iMom Breakfast
The iMom Breakfast for September was cancelled due to inclement weather. All registrations/money will transfer to next month’s breakfast on October 16th.

Did you miss one of our volunteer trainings? We have one last make-up session on September 18th at 2:00PM. The training will last 30 minutes. Please join us if you want to volunteer at RBES in any capacity this year.

If you wish to have your child’s picture retaken, please send in a note requesting so. Students must have written permission to have a picture retake. Retakes will occur on September 19th.

It is time for the RBES Fall Book Fair!  
    The Book Fair will be open September 8th-14th from 8:00AM until 2:30PM and September 12th night for Chick-Fil-A /STEAM Night from 6:00-8:00PM. Grandparents, parents, and special friends are invited to lunch and the Book Fair during our lunch time (11:15-11:45AM) this whole week. The Book Fair provides students, parents, grandparents, and special friends an excellent opportunity to purchase great books that your children will love to read. This is also a wonderful way to help support the RBES Media Center. All proceeds go directly to the RBES Media Center.
Our class will visit the Book Fair Wednesday, September 13 from 10-10:30.. You may meet us at the Book Fair to shop with your child, or you may send in money for your child to shop with a volunteer.
*If you plan to eat Chick Fil A on STEAM Night, you will need to pre-order via the form sent home in your child’s Rocket Folder.



RBES STEAM/Chick Fil A Family Night will be held on September 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This is an opportunity for students and parents to come to school and participate in different science, technology, engineering and math challenges. Look forward to seeing you there!

Picture Retakes

If you wish to have your child’s school picture retaken, please send in a note requesting so. Students must have written permission to be permitted to have a picture retake. Retakes will occur on September 19th.

Dot Day!
We are excited to be celebrating Dot Day in our classroom on September 15th. Dot Day is based on the book, “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds. The book talks about seeing how far one small mark can take you. We will read the book and do activities to go along. Students are encouraged to dress in “dots.”

Attendance/Tardy Reminders

Excused Absences
1.  Excused Absence for Medical Reasons: Absences for which a student requires attention from a healthcare professional (i.e. doctor, dentist, psychiatrist, etc. . .) will always be excused when a note from the professional is provided to the school.
2.  Parent Note Excused Absence--Maximum of 5 Parent notes per year.  

Unexcused Absence: Any absences beyond the (5) parent excused absences, except those supported by documentation from a health care provider, are considered unexcused

Tardy: A student is tardy if he/she arrives after the start of the school day or leaves before the end of the school day, missing no more than three (3) hours. Arriving late or leaving early for a medical appointment can be an excused tardy as long as documentation from a medical professional is provided.

DA$H for Excellence Corporate Sponsor Opportunity
Own a business? Consider being a corporate sponsor for our school’s only fundraiser - DA$H! DA$H is an opportunity for students to raise funds for their school while participating in a 15 minute fitness challenge. Students will test their cardiovascular fitness y running or walking as many laps as possible in the allotted time. Corporate sponsors can choose between three levels of sponsorship:
Minimum of $100
Minimum of $250
Minimum of 500
Students were sent home with sponsor information sheets that details what each sponsor level consists of. If you have additional questions, please contact Melissa Chafin at mchafin4@gmail.com
Corporate sponsorships are due by September 29th.
