Each student will be coming home with a DA$H packet this week in their FISH book. This packet will include the sponsor recording sheet and envelope for collecting money after we DA$H on the 19th. The school has a goal that each student will get $50 from sponsors. Our class has a goal that we will get 20 total sponsors.
This money is used to purchase new technology for our school and professional learning for our staff.

4th Grade is working with Movers for Mutts (in association with Two Men and a Truck) to collect items for the local humane society.  Starting October 9th and going through the end of the month, students are encouraged to bring in any of the items listed below.  Thank you for supporting us in our desire to help dogs and cats in need!

Dog toys, wet kitten food, puppy food, blankets, beds, & towels (Most Needed)
Unscented bleach, liquid dish soap, unscented laundry detergent (powder is fine), lint rollers, Clorox/Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, pet carriers (new or used), dog crates (new or used), dog & cat treats, food & water bowls, cat & dog food, leashes & collars of all sizes (especially small), newspapers, puppy & kitten milk replacers, and puppy play pens.

First Grade is participating in a year long service learning project involving fire safety and prevention. They are partnering with Oconee Fire and the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation to raise money for the “Give Burns the Boot” charity, whose mission is “To partner with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.” 10% of all “Give Burns the Boot” proceeds goes back to Oconee Fire and is used for fire education, smoke detectors, protective gear, etc. Each Friday this school year, beginning October 12th, first graders will act as firefighters and collect spare change in the morning carpool line. Not a morning car rider? No problem! Students can still bring change to school and drop it in the boot located in the front office!

Thank you for helping give back to our community and support this worthy cause!
