Here’s a peek at our week!

Responsive Classroom/Positive Discipline: Taking turns, uses for the talking stick, special
breathing, how to share, the ROCKETS' Way.

Zoo-phonics Friends: Review a, c, t, m, p, b, l, h, e, s, o, d, r, z, g...Practice our new
friends: j, k, n, q continue to practice formationof letters

Reading: Daily 5 implementation - Review Read to Self, Meet with Teacher and
Work on Writing, Word Work, Read to Someone.... Learn " Listening to Reading"

Mentor Sentence: “Today I am happy."-- Jamie Lee Curtis


L.Arts: parts of a sentence, identifying words/spaces and punctuation.... parts of a book,
author/illustrator, sight words and concepts of print.

Writing Workshop: Small Moment about what I like about me/ Letter
formation and sentence structure.

Social Studies: ROCKETS' Way--- Respect.... Community Helpers

Math: Review 2-D shapes and 3-D shapes... CGI addition to 10.... positional words

Homework: Practice sight words nightly

Thank you for supporting our classroom. We really enjoyed the special
math sorting activity we were able to do. Students worked hard
sorting different snacks by shape. The tricky part was trying to draw the item
on the mat after they sorted. They showed tremendous effort! We appreciate
each of our parents! :)


School Pictures
Our class will have our picture taken on Wednesday, August 29th at 8:30 am. 
Please send students ready to have their picture taken. You are welcome to 
send in a change of clothes. We will have time for students to change if they'd like. :)

Team Spirit Day
Students and staff are encouraged to wear the colors of the college football team they support on Friday, August 31st.


We will have the opportunity to visit the library every Wednesday. Please encourage your student to read their book and place it back in their book bag so that they are ready to 
return it and get a new one each week. :) 

We have 10 minutes in our schedule for snack time. Each student is encouraged to bring one snack to enjoy during this time. If you would please help your student pack them item in their book bag, this will help when they are trying to locate their snack. :)

We love to celebrate birthdays! Snack time is the best time of the day to celebrate. If you would like you are welcome to send in a small treat to enjoy. Some easy things that students have enjoyed have been goodie bags or a donut or a cookie.


We understand that changes in transportation are necessary from time to time. If you would please, either send in a hand written note for the office or call the front office with the transportation change. We can not accept email transportation changes. Thank you for understanding. :) 


Please check their FISH book nightly for teachers notes, student work or messages from the office. All of the student work can be removed daily. Please check the student work to see if anything needs to corrected and returned. 

When money is being sent to school, it would be very helpful if it came in a ziploc or an envelope with your student's name, my name, grade level and a brief description of what the money is for. ( lunch money, book fair, ice cream, etc.) Thank you for helping us!
